797 Traffic violations and 7 residency violators arrested in Hawalli

Yesterday, the Traffic and Operations Sector of the Ministry of Interior, under direct instructions from the Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs Major General Jamal Al Sayegh, carried out a field campaign in the Hawalli region, which was supervised by the Assistant Director-General of the Traffic Department for Traffic Research Affairs, Brigadier Khaled Mahmoud, and the Assistant Director-General for Education Affairs, Brigadier Sheikh Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled, which resulted in the issuance of 797 violations, the seizure of 13 vehicles in the garage of the administration, the transfer of 3 juveniles to the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the Juvenile Police Department, and the arrest of 7 violators of the residence and work law, in addition to the arrest of two people in abnormal condition in possession of a white weapon and suspected narcotics. .

Brigadier General Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled said, in a statement to Al-Jarida, that the field security campaigns succeeded in eliminating some types of violations that were prevalent on the public road, most notably the conditions of security and durability, and juvenile driving of vehicles without obtaining driving licenses, pointing out that the security presence Traffic on the highway aims primarily to enforce the prestige of the law.

Regarding juvenile driving of vehicles, Al-Khaled added that the violation and the legal penalty also fall on the person who delivered the vehicle to the juvenile.

For his part, the officer of the Public Relations and Traffic Awareness Department at the General Traffic Department, Major Abdullah Buhassan, said that the field campaign resulted in the issuance of 797 violations, including 121 using a phone while driving, 132 not wearing a seat belt, 319 truck violations that were issued in a previous traffic campaign, and 145 violations for taxi vehicles, and 290 safety and durability conditions, pointing out that 3 fines were issued for juveniles who drive without obtaining driving licenses.

Buhassan added that the traffic police arrested 3 juveniles for not carrying driver’s licenses, in addition to the arrest of 7 violators of the residence law, and the arrest of 6 vehicles wanted by the judiciary, as well as the seizure of 13 violating vehicles.
