Manpower: Activating the ban on work in the afternoon hours, starting from June
The Public Authority for Manpower announced that it will start activating the decision to ban the employment of workers in open areas during the afternoon hours from 11 am to 4 pm, starting from the first of next June until the end of August.
The Director-General of the authority, Ahmed Al-Mousa, said in a press statement today, Wednesday, that the inspection teams in the authority will follow up the implementation of the decision over a period of three months, and that it will conduct surprise inspection campaigns on work sites to monitor and record any violations and take legal action against violators.

He added that the decision aims to organize work and not reduce working hours, and to protect workers from the extreme heat of the weather during this period of the year, stressing care not to expose the projects that are being implemented to any damage.
He stressed that the implementation of this decision during the past years was approved by many companies in many sectors, in addition to that it was in keeping with the public interest and in line with Kuwait’s obligations to implement international labor standards in the afternoon hours.
He pointed out that the implementation of the decision means the obligation of employers to ensure the health and safety of all their workers, as well as keenness to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Labor Law and the decisions regulating it, noting that whoever violates these controls and laws pays between 100 to 200 dinars for each violating worker.
