Bamboo Stem by Kuwaiti novelist is published in Malayalam 

The novel The Bamboo Stem, by Kuwaiti novelist Saud Al-Sanousi, was published in Malayalam by the Indian publishing house Books Way, translated from Arabic by translator Ibrahim Badshah, who has a master’s degree in Arabic language and literature from KKHM University in Kerala, and a PhD fellow in the Department of English Language and Literature at University of Houston, USA.

Malayalam is one of the Indian languages ​​spoken by more than 35 million people in the states and the South Indies and some East Asian countries.

The Malayalam translation is ranked thirteenth since the novel was published in 2012, after the English, Italian, Persian, Turkish, Chinese, Korean, Romanian, Kurdish, Macedonian, Somali, Croatian and Filipino translations.

The novel was published in its Arabic version in 2012, and in 2013 “The Bamboo Stem” won the International Prize for Arabic Fiction (Booker), and in 2016 the novel was turned into a television drama of the same name.
