Today, Monday, the Red Crescent Society announced the distribution of 4,500 food baskets to needy families who are registered with the Society’s statements on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Society’s Secretary-General Maha Al-Barjas expressed the Society’s keenness to provide for the needs of these families, which contributes to increasing the spirit of social solidarity among members of society, and alleviating the financial burdens on families in need of food and filling their needs, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan. .
Al-Barjas added that one food basket includes the various needs of the family, including rice, sugar, dates, edible oils, chicken and canned food, which suffices the family for a month.
She stated that the association also worked to support the needy and the poor outside Kuwait, in Yemen, Comoros, and Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Pakistan, Malawi, Ghana, Sudan, Senegal and Palestine.
She explained that this aid comes as an embodiment of the humanitarian role of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, in an effort to make the beneficiaries of its humanitarian services among those most in need.
She expressed her thanks to the private sector, banks and benefactors of citizens and residents who took the initiative to donate to needy families through the association, stressing the importance of continuing their giving to make the local aid program a complete success.
