In Kuwait, the demand for cosmetics decreased by 8.2% during the nine months of last year 2021.
There was less need for cosmetics due to the requirement of wearing mask in many places.
Official figures revealed – according to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce – that the value of cosmetics that were imported during the last nine months of last year amounted to 20.7 million dinars, compared to the import of products worth 23 million in the corresponding period in 2020.
The list of imported items includes cosmetics, and skin care products (other than medicines), including sun protection products and hand and foot care products.
The statistics also showed Kuwait’s import of synthetic hair fittings “wig” worth about 15 million dinars, during the same period, a jump from the period before “Corona”, which amounted to 11 million dinars.
