After an absence of more than 18 months, normal life returned to educational schools, yesterday morning, with 300,000 students, as the Ministry of Education succeeded in organizing a plan for the safe partial return of students on the first day of the start of work.
Students of Kuwait’s public and private schools were organized with an attendance rate of 50% in their classrooms, after they were divided into two groups amid exceptional health measures imposed by the “Corona” pandemic.

The decision of the Ministry of Health, which was issued late last night, had a clear impact in facilitating the entry procedures for students who received a single dose of the vaccine without the need to submit a PCR examination and alleviate the expected crisis, while the application of the examination decision continued for students and teachers who did not obtain any A dose, after the “Education” issued a circular in this regard to all schools yesterday morning.
In keeping with the first school day, the Minister of Education, Dr. Ali Al-Mudhaf toured a number of schools to see and check on the progress of work. The tour included Abdulaziz Al-Shaheen Kindergarten in the Mushrif area, Umm Attia Al-Ansari Primary School for Girls, in addition to Al-Khandaq Intermediate School for Boys, and Awatef Al-Athbi Al-Sabah High School.
Al-Mudhaf said, in a press statement during the tour: “In the beginning, I would like to extend my congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad, and the Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, and to the parents, students and employees of the Ministry of Education from the educational and administrative bodies on the occasion of the beginning of the The school year, after a break of more than a year and a half, hoping that this year will be safe for learners.
He said: We hope that the second semester will be a complete and safe return, and the return of the learners will be evaluated in cooperation with “Health” after a month, and the appropriate decision will be taken according to health conditions.
Al-Mudhaf indicated that in each educational area there is an operation room in coordination between “Education” and “Health”, whose objective is to carefully review the situation in all schools, and to monitor emergency situations, which is equipped at the highest level.
He concluded by praising the efforts of the “Education” staff, including teachers, administrators and school workers, by saying: “What I saw today is a pride for all of us, and it reflects the tremendous efforts made by all specialists, as well as school administrations,” praising the concerted efforts of the government and the support of all ministries and authorities, to ensure a successful school year.
