The criminal security department’s detectives at the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Administration for Drug Control, were able to arrest Asian residents who tried to bring a large amount of narcotics into the country by sea with the intention of trafficking.
In the details reported by a security source to Al-Jarida, the General Department for Narcotics Control – the Local Control Department received confidential information about Asian residents trafficking in narcotic substances, which they brought from a country by sea, noting that immediately upon receiving the information, investigations were intensified and information collected. She confirmed the authenticity of the presence of a large quantity of narcotics belonging to the defendants dumped inside the Kuwaiti territorial waters near the island of Awha.
The source added that the detectives obtained the legal permission and coordinated with the General Department of the Coast Guard to retrieve the quantity dumped on the seabed, which turned out to be 4 bags containing 105 kilograms of narcotic hashish, sealed with provisions.
He stated that the detectives were able to arrest the suspects and by searching their homes, they found 20 kilos of hashish and a quarter kilo of the narcotic substance, noting that by interrogating the accused, they confessed and confessed what was attributed to them, and they were referred and the seized items to the competent authority to take legal action against them.
