Jazeera Airways announced that it will operate its first direct flight to London Heathrow Airport starting Friday, June 18, making it the first low-cost airline in the region to start operating flights to Heathrow.
The company will operate these flights with a weekly direct flight every Friday, while it plans to increase the number of flights while easing travel restrictions.
Commenting on the new service, Jazeera Airways CEO Rohit Ramachandran said: “This new route to Heathrow caters to a high demand for flights to London, which includes demand from business travelers, Kuwaiti students and a very large segment of regular tourists looking to visit London again, with many of them owning homes in the UK.”
He added: “With the acceleration of the vaccination process against the Covid-19 virus in Kuwait and around the world, countries have begun to ease travel restrictions and open their borders, which will contribute to the gradual return of travel during the summer season. As for Jazeera Airways, we have completed the vaccination campaign for all the airline’s pilots and cabin crew since last April, and we continue to adhere to health and safety procedures in all our facilities to reassure each customer that he will travel safely to London with Jazeera Airways.”
