This morning, Minister of Interior Sheikh Thamer Al-Ali Al-Sabah supervised the rescue operation of 21 people who were on a boat on a cruise, where their boat was exposed to some malfunctions that prompted them to request distress via the emergency phone (112).
Minister Al-Ali went to the naval base in Al-Jula’a area and was received by Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Border Security Affairs, Major General Mubarak Al-Amiri, where the rescue operation was taking place.
Minister Al-Ali directed and gave some observations to the maritime patrols and the forces participating in determining the location of the boat, in light of the difficult climatic conditions that caused the rise of waves and the instability of the sea, as its location was determined in record time after coordination with a number of competent authorities.
Minister Al-Ali supervised the evacuation of 21 people who were on board the boat, men and women, including 4 children, two of whom were infants, after withdrawing the boat to the berth of the base, and checking on their safety through the medical committee that was present at the place where the Ministry of Interior provided a means of transportation to bring each of them to His residence.
Minister Al-Ali thanked and appreciated the parties that participated, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, for allowing the Coast Guard forces to use the dock of the Ministry of Defense in the rescue operation, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Muhammad Al-Sabah for the participation The General Fire Force in the rescue operation, the General Administration of Coast Guard and all human cadres that work on the security and safety of citizens and residents.
