Kuwait Ambassador to India Jassem Al-Najem announced today, Thursday, that the first urgent Kuwaiti aid to India will arrive next Saturday on board a military plane, with the aim of contributing to combating the spread of a new mutated strain of the Corona virus.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Ambassador Al-Najem confirmed that this urgent aid came at the generous initiative of the State of Kuwait in order to contribute to mitigating the major repercussions due to the spread of the new mutated strain, which resulted in a significant increase in death and injury rates in record numbers.
He stressed the keenness of the State of Kuwait to alleviate the suffering of the friendly Indian people regarding this health disaster in light of the exceptional circumstances that the friendly Republic of India is going through.
The ambassador explained that the aid includes oxygen generating devices, ventilators, a large number of oxygen cylinders of various sizes, and other medical supplies to fill the deficit and shortage of Indian hospitals to confront the virus.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Muhammad Al-Sabah renewed during a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, Dr. Subramaniam Jay Shankar, last Tuesday, the solidarity of the State of Kuwait, the leadership, government and people with India in these difficult circumstances.
Last Monday, the Kuwaiti Cabinet decided to send urgent aid to India to face the repercussions of the spread of the new mutated strain of the Corona virus.
