The number of Covid-19 deaths in India exceeded 200,000 today, as a lack of oxygen, medical supplies and hospital staff led to a record increase in new cases of coronavirus.

The second wave of Corona in India has seen at least 300,000 infections per day over the past week, which has outpaced the ability of healthcare facilities and crematoriums to function and sparked an international response to help that Asian country.

In the past twenty-four hours, the health authorities recorded 360,960 new cases, which is the largest daily number in the world, bringing the total number of injuries in India to about 18 million. The deaths increased by 3,293, the most daily toll in India so far, which brings the number of people who died from Covid-19 infection to 201187.
