Today, the Yemeni government announced a temporary suspension of the travel of its citizens to India, where a second, more ferocious wave of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has spread, and daily infections and deaths have reached record levels.
The (Supreme National Committee for Confronting the Coronavirus) said in a statement that it had directed the Yemeni Airlines and the Yemeni Embassy in India to take this measure, starting tomorrow, Friday, April 23, until further notice.
The committee added that it directed the Ministry of Health to take measures to examine the returnees and follow up their health status with the local authorities in the governorates.
They indicated that this measure is in line with the precautionary measures taken by the Indian authorities to confront the outbreak of the pandemic.
And they confirmed the continuation of return trips for citizens from India to Yemen, according to the usual schedule.
