The Chinese ambassador to the country, Li Minggang, praised the efforts of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society to assist those affected by disasters, especially in alleviating the suffering due to the repercussions of the emerging corona virus (Covid-19).

Ambassador Gang confirmed to “KUNA” after his meeting with the Chairman of the Society’s Board of Directors, Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer said yesterday that Kuwait’s role has become distinguished and pioneering in humanitarian giving, appreciating the efforts of all state agencies in combating Corona virus, as well as in the vaccination campaign.

And he announced that the embassy had donated 100,000 medical masks to the association, with the aim of supporting the Kuwaiti side in combating the epidemic and to strengthen the necessary precautionary measures to confront the virus.

He said that he discussed with Al-Sayer many issues related to humanitarian work and ways to enhance it between the two friendly countries, appreciating the association’s efforts and what it does to help the afflicted countries.

He explained that during the meeting, he was briefed on the size of the humanitarian programs that the association is implementing at the international and local levels in combating the virus and its great role in supporting the state by providing aid to all groups in need.

Humanitarian efforts

For his part, Al-Sayer welcomed the visit of the Chinese ambassador to the headquarters of the association and review its activities and achievements that have contributed to strengthening humanitarian efforts worldwide, expressing his deep appreciation and thanks to the Chinese embassy for donating this quantity of medical masks, which confirms its pioneering role in supporting humanitarian efforts around the world.

He stated that the meeting touched on the aid provided by the association to the afflicted and affected, and its most important humanitarian actions and movements to provide relief and assistance to the affected areas, in addition to its role in combating the emerging corona virus inside and outside the country
