The Pharmaceutical Licensing Committee at the Ministry of Health approved the renewal of licenses for pharmacies of cooperative societies for a period of 6 months.
Informed health source revealed, that the committee discussed, in its meeting yesterday, the issue of renewing licenses for these pharmacies, which had been extended to July 31, 2020, based on Ministerial Resolution No. 81 of 2020, and it was agreed that the extension The period of temporary permits for pharmacies and pharmacists working in them is another 6 months, or until a final judgment is issued due to the existence of judicial disputes in the matter before the courts.
The sources said that the committee decided to cancel the license of Jaber Al-Ahmad City Cooperative Society Pharmacy, Block 1, in addition to approving the presentation of the meeting minutes to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for approval of the minutes, in preparation for the implementation of what was contained in its content by the authority from which the license was issued.
She indicated that the committee discussed the pharmacy of the aforementioned association, as the legal memorandum issued by the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs addressed to it from the Minister of Health’s office and the indicator on it was presented to the Pharmaceutical Licensing Committee to issue the necessary recommendation in preparation for taking the necessary action, explaining that after the committee reviewed the result of the legal opinion of the memo And the reasons stated in it ended with the revocation of the association’s pharmacy license.
They explained that the license issued in the name of Jaber Al-Ahmad Cooperative Society, Block 1, was issued in violation of Law No. 30 of 2016, and after reading the documents contained therein, especially addressing the Fatwa and Legislation Department to inform about the legality of the license issued to the pharmacy.
