The government announced that foreign tourists will be prevented from entering Iran starting tomorrow, Saturday, following the recent increase in cases of Coronavirus infection.

And local media reported today, Friday, that only foreigners who have a specific purpose to enter the country, such as work, will be allowed to apply for a visa.

As of tomorrow, Saturday, they will have to submit a test certificate for the negative result of the Corona virus from an internationally recognized institution in their country.

The news agency “Esna”, quoting a press release issued by the immigration authorities, said that the test certificate must be in the English language and not more than 96 hours have passed.

The Ministry of Health announced that 226 new deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the current number of deaths to 16,569

Iran recorded a daily increase of more than 2,600 new infections, raising the number of injuries discovered so far to more than 300 thousand injuries.

The renewed increase in cases is due to the easing of restrictions on movement at the end of May.
